I recently had the honor of being the official event photographer for The Wendy Williams Show app launch party!
The event took place on the rooftop of the Atlanta Tech Village with a gorgeous view of the Buckhead skyline, and included Wendy Williams’ signature “WenMojis”, Wendy Digital and SuperNova South branded Step & Repeat signage, food catered by Fresh to Order, drinks and a signature “WenMotini” cocktail drink via Cathead Vodka, a live Q&A interview with Wendy and Dana Barrett, and plenty of good company!
This was a fun event and I’m thankful to SuperNova South and the amazing Tami McQueen for the opportunity of a lifetime.
I had the opportunity to participate in my first art show recently and present my work to the public at Eventide Brewing and I could not have asked for a better first showcase!
Each month, FamilyHood organizes art shows that give artists of all media a platform to share their work with the community and meet other like minded creatives in Atlanta. They believe by representing all forms of art, we can all gain new perspectives and become better artists and better connected with our community. I was selected as one of the artists for the August lineup on 8/25 for another night of community vibes, and quickly had to learn how to get canvases, prints, frames, and signage for my work to be ready for this event.
Luckily, my friend Bhargava Chiluveru gave me some solid advice about not purchasing too much inventory to start with and also recommending PPRAtlanta and PPRPix for their printing services. The ordering process was fairly seamless after getting some help from my buddy Frantz Paris (who works there), and I couldn’t have been happier with the results! The canvases all came out perfectly with great color and detail reproduced for each photo I selected. The prints came out sharp and looked great in the frames I bought from Michaels.
I was really excited to showcase the hard work and time I’ve put into this craft and was amazed by how many of my friends, family, fellow photographers, and co-workers at SalesLoft attended the event to support me and my artwork. I met so many people who appreciated the incredible art on display by all of my fellow creatives in the lineup.
I’m glad I got to experience this first and it felt good to sell out of all three of the canvases I had made as well as one of the three prints I had on display! This was really rewarding and helped validate all of the blood, sweat, and tears I have put into photography over the past year. The venue was beautiful as well and I learned a ton in the process to better prepare myself for potential shows in the future.
Can’t wait until I can do it all over again!
I was recently interviewed by Meredith Howard for THE STREETS – a street photography magazine featuring up-and-coming street photographers and conversations with strangers about their life and work.
As someone who is still fairly new to the photography world, I’m glad I had the opportunity to tell the story of how I fell in love with the craft, the photographers who have inspired me early on during my journey, and where I intend to have my path lead in the future.
The magazine can be read through THE STREETS website, directly through Issuu, or can be downloaded to a device. They will also be putting together a print Collection of all of this year’s issues so be on the lookout in December.
Much love to Bhargava Chiluveru at fourofour.co and Lauren Holley of #ATLUrbanPhoto for their inspiration and advice, and congrats to the other artists and creatives who made the issue!
